OPEN CALL FOR NIGHT LIGHTS PROPOSALS

1. INTRODUCTION
The Singapore Night Festival invites Singapore-based* artists to submit a concept for the installation of public light artworks within the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) district as part of Night Lights. Night Lights have been a key programming component of the annual Singapore Night Festival (SNF). This Open Call seeks site specific outdoor installations that relate to the place heritage of the BBB precinct. SNF is central to placemaking efforts in the BBB precinct. Proposed installations should aim at bringing alive a sense of community, unite Singaporeans through collective memory, prompt powerful social experiences and creatively transform everyday spaces.
*International firms/individuals interested in participating in this Open Call may form a collaboration with a Singaporean or Permanent Resident firm(s)/individual(s) to submit a proposal.
2. ABOUT SINGAPORE NIGHT FESTIVAL
Unexpected, eclectic and vibrant – the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) is a signature night-time arts, heritage and culturally diverse festival located in the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct organised by the National Heritage Board (NHB). Celebrated annually, the festival works closely with BBB’s businesses, educational institutions, and other artists to collaborate, create, and feature an array of cross-disciplinary artworks, projections and performances.
The 14th edition of the festival will be held over 9 nights over the last two weekends of August and will feature performances and artworks interspersed throughout the vibrant BBB area.

3. KEY DATES TO LOOK OUT FOR
Here are some key dates as guidelines:
· 4 November 2022 – SNF artist call submissions open
· 19 December 2022 – SNF artist open call submissions close at 1700hrs SGT
· 9 – 20 January 2023 – Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed
· 27 January 2023 – Interviewed applicants notified of outcome
